Mimosas are such a celebratory drink – brunches, showers, toasting, hosting – mimosas are a total necessity. Unfortunately, mimosas have a before 2pm social expectation. I concocted up a more grown-up equivalent to the mimosa, with just the same amount of fruity flare. Sometimes all it takes are those minor differences to zest it up. Amp up your brunch cred and sip away!
This cocktail is far from complicated. Simple, sweet, and easy to go down, without having seeming like you’re drinking juice. Lillet is amazing on its own (see my previous thoughts on the drink here), but add a hint of mandarin juice and some zest for garnish for an extra fruity kick.
Freshly squeezed mandarin juice is divine in drinks. Mandarins are easier to peel than regular oranges, and are super sweet. They’re also a holiday staple in my house, and adding a taste of home to anything I’m eating or drinking is always nice.
Serve chilled. If you don’t have time to chill your glasses as well, throw in some ice. Don’t worry about it watering it down – you’ll drink it before it has the chance to melt. Cheers!
